The following is required to be sent with the application form: (i) If you have downloaded the application form from the net, a demand draft for Rs.1,000/- in favour of Chennai Business School Ltd., payable at Chennai. (ii) Degree certificate, mark sheets of all the years of undergraduate study (BA., BSc., BE. etc.) and plus two final exam results. Those appearing for final degree exams in April 2010, need to submit exam results and mark sheets as soon as results are available. (iii) Two reference letters from people known to you. (iv) Supporting documents for any extra-curricular achievements. (v) Two copies of recent passport- size photographs (one to be pasted on the application form). (vi) Sponsorship letter from your employer,

PROGRAMME STARTING JULY 2010

ELIGIBILITY

or equivalent grade from a recognized university.

Candidates with Non-engineering Bachelor's Degree in Science will also be considered for admission provided they undertake a one year Bridge Course for direct entry to the MBA programme offered by LMT School of Management. Admission to one year Bridge Course for MBA programme will be open to a candidate having Bachelor's Degree in Science of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

METHOD OF SELECTION

Candidates appearing for CAT will be considered for admission through GD and Personal Interview. The candidates who did not take CAT will be required to take a formal test to be conducted by
LMT School of Management, Thapar University, Patiala on 7th February 2010.

Candidates with work experience will be given due preference provided they show enough aptitude
towards academic pursuit.

ASCI - Post Graduate Diploma Program in Hospital Management Program

The need for professionally trained hospital managers is being increasingly felt in Indian hospitals, whether private or public, new or old, large or small metropolitan or not. This is largely due to growing recognition that performance levels of hospitals in various managerial and functional areas are falling short of
standards that are known to be achievable.

ASCI-PGDHM Program

The ASCI Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management is a two-year residential full time Programme offered by ASCI and recognized by AICTE. The Programme comprises four semesters, three semesters
of residential training followed by one semester of internship training.

Course Curriculum

The Course curriculum has been designed to cover the conceptual and qualitative skills needed by administrators/managers in contemporary hospitals. While hospitals are at the core, the program
also looks at associated sectors in the healthcare arena having direct interface with hospitals.

The Programme is rigorous and practice oriented with a teaching approach that combines classroom lectures with case studies, team discussions and presentations and field visits to a wide variety of hospitals. Unique combination of operational and strategic inputs, coupled with cross-functional perspective and application-orientation - prepare its graduates to make a mark for themselves in the industry.

Internship: During Internship, the participants undergo training for a minimum of sixteen weeks with a hospital or a healthcare organization. The internship is designed to help bridge the sometimes-significant gap between academic preparation and the field of practice.
Faculty: Faculty from the industry and other academic institutions complement the highly competent
core faculty.
Placements: P
articipants who have completed the Programme have found placements in leading hospitals in the country and abroad. Graduates from any discipline, with a minimum 50% aggregate at graduation, are eligible for admissions. Candidates with a medical (MBBS, dental, physiotherapy, AYUSH) or life-sciences (including pharma) background are especially encouraged to apply.

Graduation results of all candidates must be available with the candidates latest by June 30, 2010 – failing which the candidate will not be allowed to join the program and the seat will then be offered to the
next candidate on the waiting list.

Admission Process

The admission process includes a Written test, to be followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

draft of Rs.750/- (drawn in favor of Administrative Staff College of India) by March 31, 2010 at

Written Test : ASCI will conduct its own written test – on April 25, 2010 -  simultaneously at Hyderabad, Delhi and Kolkata.

THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE & SELECTION CRITERIA:
The entire selection procedure is in three stages viz.,
(1) Written Test of MAT/CAT/XAT/ATMA/JMET/I-CET (2) Group Discussion and (3) Personal Interview.

1. Written Test: A candidate has to take the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by the AIMA-CMS between September and May each year or CAT/XAT/ATMA/JMET/I-CET. Students who wish to join SSIM should apply to the institute separately by obtaining the prescribed application form and complete other formalities such as Registration etc. Advance intimation will be sent to the candidates who have registered themselves with the Institute to attend the selection process of Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Students may also register online.

2. Group Discussion: Group discussion for a group of 8 to 10 candidates will be conducted.

3. Personal Interview: Interviews will be conducted after the group discussions for all the registered candidates of
respective center.

4. Weightage for Selection: * Written Test (MAT/CAT/XAT/ATMA): 50% * Group Discussion : 20%
* Personal Interview : 15% * Academic Performance : 10% * Work Experience : 5%

GRG School of Management Studies (GRGSMS) is a part of the GRG Group of Educational Institutions in Coimbatore under the aegis of the GRG Trust. The GRG Trust was founded in 1956 by Shri GR Govindarajulu and his wife, Smt Chandrakanthi Govindarajulu who were industrialists, philanthropists, educationists, and great visionaries.

GRGSMS, established in 1993 is one of the very few b-schools dedicated exclusively to the development of women managers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs. It is an autonomous institution, affiliated to the Bharathiar University, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and accredited by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) with an 'A' rating. GRGSMS is ranked 'A+' by Business India in its B-School survey published in October 2009.

The flagship programme offered by GRGSMS is the two-year, full-time, trimester-based Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree. GRGSMS also offers a one-year, full-time PG Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) programme.

Vision and Mission

The vision of the institution is what the founders - Shri GR Govindarajulu and his wife Smt. Chandrakanthi Govindarajulu - had envisioned as "empowering women through education". Its relevance and application today stands testimony to their vision.
 
Our vision statement reads, "We shall be a leader in education, training and consulting in management founded on a strong base of core values, holistic perspective, and recognition of human dignity".

Our mission statement is, "We are committed to empowering young women become successful business leaders and entrepreneurs and enable these young women to lead their lives with professional will and personal humility coupled with knowledge, skill and competence".

Infrastructure

GRGSMS is presently located within the premises of PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in Peelamedu.
The environment-friendly landscape and architecture provides a conducive atmosphere for learning and development. The infrastructure is state-of-the-art, modern and contemporary. Well-equipped classrooms, technology-enabled teaching aids, multimedia lecture halls with video-conferencing facility, commerce and language laboratories, a well-stacked library and
24/7 wi-fi connectivity ensure excellence in education. A spacious and hygienic cafeteria, sports ground and conference and seminar halls help to enhance learning and development. 
 
The hostel for students is comfortable, affordable and conveniently located. The school provides transport to and from the hostel. The food is healthy, nourishing and wholesome.

Admissions

Our annual intake is 120 for the MBA programme and 30 for the PGDBA programme.

For MBA Programme: Admission is based on performance in UG degree and Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). A certain percentage of seats is reserved for candidates applying through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET).
Minimum qualification for application to the MBA programme is a UG degree of any recognised university
with 50% aggregate marks. Students in the final year of UG degree may also apply.

For PGDBA Programme: Admission is based on performance in UG degree.
