PGDM Executive

Worldwide, MBA programmes have gone for transformational changes to suit with the rapidly changing and evolving requirement of the industries for survival and growth in the 21st Century. Programmes have become theme based and need based to suit requirements of different groups of individuals and working executives. Programme curriculum have been made flexible and focused on vertical specialization within inter-disciplinary and functional domains.
For surviving in one's career in management today and to manage business well, one not only requires to have a generalized perspective on business and management but also requires to develop in-depth expertise in a functional or industry domain. In the emerging global economic, social, and political scenario, most businesses have become very competitive and complex to manage. This requires specialized skills in various domains and it is virtually impossible for one to master specialized skills across multiple domains.  To keep up with the requirements, contemporary MBA programmes have been made flexible and customized to help one develop skills which are vertically specialized in line with the career goals and plans for different individuals.
PGDM-Executive Program offered by SBS has been designed to be the most advanced, most intensive, most relevant and most contemporary Management Education Programme in India for the working executives and family business owners.

PGDM Industry Integrated

The most advanced MBA for work performance enhancement
Worldwide, there is a growing opinion among the recruiters of management graduates about the irrelevance of traditional MBA curriculum in defining success factors in managerial and leadership roles. The growing discontent is as much about a complete disconnect of the management graduates from the actual requirements at workplaces as about the lack of managerial and leadership abilities and attitudes. Business schools are increasingly being under fire for not being able to develop the right abilities and attitude required for job role which needs 'managing' or 'leading'.
According to many experts like Henry Mintzberg and Linda Hill, what MBAs lack is the competency of 'doing' things in day-to-day business. They learn theories but not about 'doing' things. They don't really learn to 'manage' a business. Many experts criticized traditional MBA programs for leaving students with the impression that management problems can be perceived as neat technical packages.
According to the Report (2008) of the Centennial Global Business Summit of Harvard Business School on the topic of Business Education in the 21st Century, traditional MBA programmes are on the decline because the programmes do not impart any cutting-edge education but lay too much emphasis on analytics. The education is seen as highly academic but less practical. The education is driven by academic agenda and not by real life business issues. Recruiters and employers want more emphasis on practical issues and skills such as leadership, globalizing economy and business horizons, presentation / communication, problem identification, initiatives, inter-personal skills and self-awareness.
Shanti Business School's continuous research on business management curriculum and requirements of industries in regards to managerial and leadership competencies has led to creation of the PGDM-Industry Integrated Program which aims to integrate practical on-the-job learning with theoretical models in order to develop the right competencies required for managing and leading in real life business situations.
