Admissions

The programs offered at FLAME are designed to balance classroom instruction with a unique delivery system - an intensive exploration of a medium through a practical, hands-on work culture.
FLAME School of Business offers an AICTE approved two-year post-graduate diploma program anchored in liberal education and select courses at undergraduate level.
FLAME School of Communication offers an AICTE approved two-year post-graduate diploma program (Communication) anchored in liberal education and select courses at undergraduate level.
FLAME School of Liberal Education offers a four-year undergraduate program culminating in a double qualification: FLAME Diploma in Liberal Education and a BA, BSc or BBA.
FLAME School of Performing Arts offers an undergraduate three-year degree course, a two-year postgraduate course and a five-year integrated program. Apart from these, the school offers
diploma courses of varying duration.

Eligibility & Selection Process

FLAME School of Business and FLAME School of Communication
Eligibility:
Candidates should have completed their bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% in aggregate at the degree level from a university / institution recognized by the UGC or equivalent bodies. Those in their final year can also apply provided they would be completing their final degree examination before May 30, 2012 and should produce their degree or equivalent certificate / mark sheet before September 30, 2012.
Selection Process: Candidates applying to FLAME School of Business or the FLAME School of Communication will have to appear for any one or more of the following national tests: CAT 2011* (conducted by IIMs), XAT, MAT, JMET, ATMA or MHCET.
*IIM's have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
GD / PI Dates: At the time of applying, students should provide us with their registration form numbers of any of the specified tests or type "appearing" in the registration box of the exam they plan to appear for in the future. (Add this part).
All eligible applicants will be called for GD/PI by the FLAME Admission's Committee.

FLAME School of Liberal Education
Eligibility: Candidates applying to the FLAME School of Liberal Education should have completed their 12th standard or equivalent. Those in their 12th standard or equivalent class can also apply provided they would be completing their final examination before May 30, 2012 and should produce their final certificate / mark sheet before September 30, 2012.
The minimum cutoffs to be eligible to apply to FLAME School of Liberal Education are as follows:
    In the case of State Boards, CBSE and ICSE, 40 % or pass marks as prescribed by the respective Boards.
    In the case of International Baccalaureate students, a diploma is the minimum requirement.
    In the case of Cambridge University students, 'A' Level certificate is the minimum requirement.
Selection Process: The candidates have a choice of either appearing for the FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT) or SAT. If candidates have appeared for SAT, they can submit their SAT scores. If not, they have to appear for FEAT. The FLAME Admission Committee will notify the eligible candidates of their test or GD/PI center. Please check our website regularly for our FEAT or
"GD/PI schedule".
Apart from the scores of the above-mentioned tests, the selection will be through a comprehensive admission process that consists of an internally designed admission assessment, application rating, personality test, group discussion and personal interview.
FLAME School of Performing Arts
Eligibility: Bachelors Program: The main eligibility criteria are the aptitude and willingness to learn. Any individual who has completed at least 12th grade is eligible to apply for the entry in the first year of the bachelors program. Exceptionally gifted candidates may be promoted to second or third year at the entry point for their Certificate or Diploma.  
Masters Program: The main eligibility criteria are the aptitude and willingness to learn. Any individual who has completed a Bachelors degree is eligible to apply for the entry in the first year of the Masters program. Exceptionally gifted candidates may be put on fast track.
Selection Process: Phase 1: Based on the application form and experience, candidates will be shortlisted.
    Phase 2: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test and personal interview. This will include an audition.
    Theatre applicants may be called for a final selection workshop

    Entrance Exam Details (For Postgraduate Students only): If you are taking the CMAT, CAT, XAT, MAT, JMET, ATMA or MHCET later this year and wish to use your test score for your application, you may submit your Registration No. without the scores and proceed with your application to FLAME. If you do not have the registration number of the test you are planning to take, you should write "Appearing" in the Registration No. box next to the test of your choice. The FLAME Admissions Committee will evaluate your application once they receive your test scores and will notify you of their decision thereafter.
    Recent Passport Size Photograph: Please ensure that you upload a good quality recent PASSPORT SIZE photograph. Uploading your photograph is mandatory to complete your application to FLAME.
    Education Qualifications: Please submit all education details beginning from Class 10. The details would include information about your Institution, Duration of study, Degree type & Results secured. Applicants awaiting their final year results (12th standard or final year in the Bachelors Program) can proceed with their application and submit their scores to FLAME once they receive them at a later date. You will be required to submit your marksheets and other supporting documents to the FLAME Admissions Committee.

Eligibility

Under Graduate Programmes (BBA/BCA):
The admissions to the Under-graduate courses are based on the results of class 12th and an interview conducted by IMC. The students may apply directly to IMC or through UGAT, conducted by AIMA.
Post Graduate Programmes (PGDM / MBA / MCA)
A Bachelor's Degree in any subject, from a recognised University is required. The final year students may also apply but will be eligible for admission only on clearing their exams.
Those applying for the MBA (part-time) programme must fulfill the additional requirement of having
a minimum of one year of work experience as a professional.

Mode of Selection

1.  The Admissions are based on the written test conducted by IMC (I-MAT). It consists of tests for
        (a)  Proficiency in English (b)  Reasoning and Logical Ability (c)  Quantitative Aptitude
      Alternatively, the scores of MAT / UGAT (conducted by AIMA) and CAT, XAT, GMAT are also applicable. This is followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview by IMC. The MBA (PT) applicants can
appear directly for the GD/Interview.
2. The NRI / Paid / Foreign / NRI or Company - sponsored candidates are exempted from the written test.
3. Foreign candidates must have proficiency in English, for which they may have to appear for a written/
oral test.

Notification: Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2013-14 (First Test)
AICTE has launched the National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE since 2012-13.
AICTE has now decided to conduct CMAT twice a year.
The notification is issued to announce the schedule for conducting first Test of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admission to academic year 2013-14. The students will be eligible to appear in both the exam and best of the two scores
will be used for admission to 2013-14.

The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct Common Admission Test 2012 (CAT2012) during a 21-day testing window between October 11, 2012 and November 06, 2012. CAT2012 will be conducted by IIMs as a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs. These programmes are:

Separate advertisements will appear for the Fellow Programme of each institute as well as PGP-ABM of IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow, PGSEM and PGPPM Programmes of IIM Bangalore, PGDCM Programme of IIM Calcutta, EPGP of IIM Indore and PGDHRM of IIM Ranchi. Before a prospective candidate makes a decision to appear for CAT2012, he/she must visit the websites and/or read programme advertisements of the concerned IIMs and specific programmes to ensure which programmes they want to apply for, eligibility requirements and admission processes. List of non-IIM member institutions that have registered to avail the CAT2012 scores is provided at www.catiim.in. CAT2012 scores are restricted only for admission to IIMs and non-IIM member institutions. A candidate can appear for CAT2012 only once during the 21 day testing window.

Registration for CAT2012:
On purchasing the CAT2012 Voucher, prospective candidates must log on to the website
www.catiim.in to register for CAT2012. The registration window opens on July 30, 2012 and will close on September 19, 2012. Details of the registration process are provided at the website www.catiim.in. Candidates should view the CAT2012 video which will be available on www.catiim.in from July 28, 2012 onwards. A short audio recording with key highlights from the video will be available on +91 124 451 7178 during the registration & scheduling period.

CAT2012 Eligibility: The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (It may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) categories), awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor's degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2013 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2013) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at the website www.catiim.in. Applicants should note that the mere
fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs.
Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account and a phone number throughout the selection process.
Sale of CAT2012 Vouchers: The CAT2012 Vouchers can be obtained from the, branches of Axis Bank and their associated outlets during the period from Monday, 30 July 2012 to Monday, 17 September 2012 for Rs.1600/- (Rs.800/- for SC/ST candidates). Visit the CAT2012 website (www.catiim.in) for exact locations of Axis bank branches and their associated outlets where voucher sale is arranged. Please note that a candidate needs to buy only one "CAT2012 Voucher" irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for. Note that the Voucher must be bought only in the name of the candidate as it appears in the school leaving certificate. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, the candidate must produce the relevant document such as a marriage certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of the test, interview and at the time of joining a programme. SC and ST candidates must show a copy of their SC/ST Certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT2012 Voucher from the Axis Bank branches. Voucher once sold cannot be refunded under any circumstance including but not limited to loss of voucher, inability to read voucher number due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, candidate being ineligible for taking CAT2012. CAT2012 not being a pre-requisite for a programme, and rejection of candidate registration due to incomplete and/or wrong information. If the voucher is lost, voucher number is not readable due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, and/or candidate thinks he/she has made mistake(s) in filling-out information during the online registration, then the
candidate can purchase a new voucher and re-register online.
