Invitation of Summer Training Reports for fmsbaroda's annual journal
'Shastrath'.
The Management Students' Forum (MSF) of the M S Patel Institute of Management Studies, (Faculty of Management Studies),
The M S University of Baroda, Vadodara  invites Summer Training Reports from students for annual journal 'Shastrath'. Shastrarth is an annual journal published by MSF since 1989.

The prizes for the First, Second & Third best reports are Rs.1,500,
Rs.1,000 and Rs 800 respectively. All the participants will receive copy of the journal "Shastrarth". No Entry Fees

The details are as under:

Maximum two entries per college
The Summer training should have been undertaken in the current academic year (summer 2001).
The report should be an abridged one not exceeding 2000 words.
The abridged report should be in Word 98/ Word 2000 with 1.5 line spacing and 12 Times New Roman Font.
The abridged report should cover Objectives, Findings, Analysis,  Recommendations/Conclusions.
The other details required are: Name, Intended Specialization area, Age & Sex.

PROGRAMME DETAILS

COMPETITION :
DMSR G.S. College is organizing "SHODH-2002"- An All India Paper Writing Competition. The competition involves submission of written paper and presentation of papers by the authors of best 12 papers at DMSR campus.
The topics for writing paper are :
1. HRD- Dimensions, Challenges and Approaches.
2. Information Technology For Social Development and Productivity
3. Creating Performance Culture through Effective Leadership.
4. Business To Business Marketing: Issues and Challenges.
5. Role Of Foreign Private Capital Investment In The Growth and
     Development Of Indian Economy - key Issues and Policy Options.
A panel of distinguished judges will evaluate the submitted papers.
12 best papers will be invited for an oral presentation at
the DMSR G.S. College Campus, Nagpur on 2nd Jan. 2002.

PRIZES :
The best three teams will be awarded prizes as follows:
First Prize      : Rs. 7,500 + Medal
Second Prize : Rs. 5,000 + Medal
Third prize     : Rs. 2,500 + Medal

PARTICIPANTS :
Students of first or second year of MBA/MMS , Engineering students (Final year /Final semester only), PGDBM students can participate in SHODH. A team of 2-4 students can submit written papers. All authors of a paper should be students of the same institute. Any number of teams from an institute can participate in SHODH. The Entry Fees Per Team is Rs. 200/- only.

REGISTRATION :
Teams desiring to submit papers should register by sending a postal mail / e-mail : sdmsr@rediffmail.com, addressed to Mr. Tanveer Shaikh Mohd Hanif (MBA-II - MKT Student), giving the topic selected for the paper, name and
e-mail address of the team head, and the name of the institute.
The last date for registration is 7th December 2001.
Registration fees can be paid in cash or DD  favouring :
Director, G.S. DMSR, Nagpur, payable at Nagpur.

IMPORTANT DATES :

Intimation to the Finalists                                : 15th December, 2001

SHODH EXTENSION :
SHODH will be followed by "KSHITIJ"
- A National level Seminar, on 3rd Jan. 2002 and "AKANKSHA"
- A Cultural festival, on 5th Jan. 2002.

GUIDELINES AND EVALUATION CRITERIA

WRITING PAPERS :
1. Papers should be printed on A4 size using single line spacing and should be printed on single side. The number of words of the paper should be between 3000 to 5000 words.
2. The first page of the paper should include the title of the topic selected, names of all the authors, the e-mail and postal address of the team leader, and the name of the business school. The name of authors or their business school should not appear anywhere else in the paper.
3. The paper should start from page 2. This page should include the title of  the paper followed by an Executive Summary not exceeding 500 words. The main body of the paper should follow the Executive Summary pages.
4. Two identical hard copies of the report along with a soft copy of the report (processed on MS word) on a 31/4" floppy disk should be sent by   mail/courier. Font type - Arial; Font size - 12.
EVALUATION OF WRITTEN PAPERS
5. A panel of judges will evaluate the written papers. The maximum points for evaluation the written papers is as follows:
Treatment of subject Matter - 15
Scope                               - 15
Language                           - 10
Style of Presentation           - 10
Total                                - 50
6. Based on points scored 12 best papers will be selected. The team leaders will be intimated by 15th Dec. 2001 (Saturday). The points obtained for the written paper will be carried forward to the next round.
EVALUATION OF ORAL PRESENTATION
7. Anyone or all members of the invited teams can make the presentation. The duration of the presentation will be 20mins. Followed by 10 min for questions by panel of judges and by audience. Presentation aids like over head projector (OHP) and LCD projector with Power Point Software will be provided. The maximum points for evaluating the oral presentations is as follows:
Substance                - 10
Communication Skill    - 10
Impact on Audience    - 10
Over all performance   - 10
Questions                 - 10
Total                       - 50

The winners will be decided on the basis of total points obtained for written paper and oral presentation.

ACCOMMODATION :
Out station candidates will be provided free boarding and lodging.
