DELNET
A major library network in South Asia

Delnet is a registered society, being promoted by National Informations Centre, Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India and India International Centre, New Delhi.

The main objectives of Delnet are to promote resource sharing among the member-libraries, develop a network of libraries, collect, store and disseminate information, offer computerised services to the users and coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and for reducing unnecessary duplication wherever possible. Delnet was started as a project in January 1988 and was registered as a society in 1992.

Delnet today has emerged as the major Library Network in South Asia with about 165 Institutional Members in 15 states in India and four members outside India. Delnet offer access to a million records through more than twenty databases including union catalogues. The network is progressing and serving the users both in and outside India.
