Everybody in corporate world is talking about" EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE "known as EQ. why this concept has gained the attention of many research scholars and why it is discussed as an important issue? Do we need to discuss as a separate topic or can it be combined with other behavioral aspects like attitude, perception etc? Emotional intelligence is more than these.

Emotional intelligence is nothing but how best a person handles a situation in stress full conditions by using his physical, emotional, spiritual attributes. Dominating characteristics of EQ may be Self control, Ability to analyze the situation in correct perspective, Thinking out of the box, Understanding the other person's personality, Minimizing the negative situations not making the issue big, Maintaining good relation ships (issue based ).Bringing out the talents and potentials from their team members, working in a group effectively with cordial relationships,

Corporate world is very dynamic and it works with diverse work force in different geographical regions. Hence all the employees working in the organization are expected to be well groomed with highly matured attitude and intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is required not only for Top level managers who are strategic decision makers but also in every employee who is positioned in the structure of the organization. cause every position has its role in contribution to the success of the organization Every employee when he steps in to the organization he comes with different skills ,attitude ,language, intelligence, family background, culture and values and ethics. he carries all these things in to the organization .People think that they are selected by their qualification, technical skills but HR is concerned about an individual for the job as a whole being .selection of an employee is a strategic decision as it has an impact on the success of the organization.HR takes a lot of time and spends lot of money in choosing the right person by choosing the right source of recruitment to choose the employees with high emotional intelligence. A leader alone cannot execute the plans and strategies as the organization is run by group .Leader is success full only when he has the high performance team who can manage any type of situation in a very effective manner. Every individual in the team should be highly skilled highly matured attitude to handle different situation.

Present HR is looking for strong personalities having high commitment, consistency, energetic, willing to work for long hours, taking challenges, multi skilled, highly flexible, mobile ,high confidence, high patience, initiation. Organization's great asset is Human capital. The organizations who are strong in human capital can adapt to the change very easily than the organizations without the strong human capital.

Whom can we call a best employee? The employee who has good physical health, emotional, Intellectual and Analytical thinking, Able to manage time and stress. all these attributes collectively makes the employee the best employee. Some organizations suffer loss because of the lack of these qualities and lack of positive attitude towards their job which creates a unhealthy work culture in the organisation.HR should properly diagnose these factors and take the necessary steps to see that employees are well placed and well groomed to suit the needs of the organization.

Above all Leader ship plays a vital role in transforming the organization .An organization with well groomed employees can face any challenges and remain a best organization in the highly dynamic business environment.
