An Open Challenge
For all rock music enthusiasts, Xavier Institute
of Management, Bhubaneswar announces the ultimate clash of talent from all over the entire rocking country. To be crowned the ultimate victor, the path is challenging and difficult, but rocking all the way. There will be two
rounds, one preliminary screening round which will be followed by the final round. If you want to prove that you have it in you to rock the world, take a look at the rules and regulations that follow and enlist yourself for this
battle…. Rules and Regulations:
* The competition will consist of two hard-fought rounds, as mentioned earlier * For the preliminary screening round, each team of rockers must send us their
band Profile clearly mentioning the genre of music that they play, their past performance, any major wins, etc… to u104009@ximb.ac.in . No hard copy needs to be submitted. * The grand finale will be held on the XIMB
campus, during the euphoric four days of Xpressions 2005 * Every team will be given exactly 30 minutes to rock the stage, the campus, and the beautiful city of Bhubaneswar (assuming they have it in them to do so) *
There has to be at least one original composition * The teams should bring with them all the required instruments and equipment, except the drum kit which will be provided. * Travel costs by second class
sleeper to and from the institute will be reimbursed. * The participants' will be hosted by XIMB during their stay

Nirnay 2005 (A game on Supply chain management)
The game will be based on real life supply chain modules of
various sectors like automobile, retail etc. It also tests the decision making skills of the participants. The methodological issues would be validation, verification, optimization, and a robust analysis of the different
Operational areas like: Procurement, Logistics, Facility Location, Inventory management, Bullwhip effect and quantification of your decision.The Game will be played in two rounds:
1. Preliminary Round: This
will be an Online Elimination round and will involve filling up of a questionnaire involving concepts of SCM. Teams will be short listed based on their responses to this questionnaire. 2. Final Round: Short listed teams from the
Preliminary Round will have to come down to the XIMB campus to play the final round which will involve strategic decision making in SCM. Prizes worth to be won: Rs 30,000/-
Rules for the participants:
1. Students can form a team of maximum two members. 2. Any number of teams can participate from an institute. 3. For the teams of first short listed post the Preliminary round, to and
fro sleeper class rail fare, by the shortest route, will be reimbursed. 4. More information can be accessed at

www.xpressions2005.com. To facilitate the communications between the participants, a yahoo group "Nirnay2005"
has been created. All interested participants are cordially invited to join this group. Request for joining the group should be mailed at xops@ximb.ac.in, clearly mentioning the name of the individual, institute and year of joining the institute.Important Dates:
1. 15th September '05 Preliminary Round: Log on to www.ximb.ac.in/~xops for online contest. Time: 10:30 pm to 11:30 pm
2. 16th
Spetember '05 Result Declaration for short listed teams of online contest. Results will be declared on www.ximb.ac.in/~xops.
3. 4th and 5th October'05 Final Round:
Selected teams of preliminary round will be invited to play the game at XIMB Campus. |
