CEO Ajit Balakrishnan is IIM-Calcutta
board chairman
 

Ajit Balakrishnan, founder, chairman and CEO of rediff.com, has been appointed the chairman of the board of governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C), for a five-year period.
 
An alumnus of IIM-Calcutta, he is the first ex-student of any IIM to be appointed to this position.
 
He succeeds ITC Chairman Y C Deveshwar, whose five-year term ended on April 3, 2007.
