Avenues '10- The annual business event of IIT Bombay, presented by Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management and Hindustan Times in association with State Bank of India, will be a two-day extravaganza of management events, competitions, workshops and seminars to draw out participants' business acumen and creativity.  The event, to be held on the 23rd and 24th of October, is designed to be a platform for budding young managers and entrepreneurs to display their talents and ideas.

This year, the theme for Avenues is "Change, Evolve, Sustain" after all, in a changing environment, as seen in the recent tumultuous past, it is not the strongest that survive, nor the most intelligent- but those most responsive to change. All management events will be geared towards this idea of managing change, through the evolution of sustainable business practices, models etc- An idea which requires us to rethink our views on managing corporations- keeping in mind both future generations and Earth Inc.

To expound this theme and to discuss its business implications, Avenues invites the participation of distinguished world-renowned individuals. This year, the speaker list includes the renowned actor, screenwriter and filmmaker Mr. Kamal Hassan, the industrialist and philanthropist- Mr. Adi Godrej, the leading corporate advisor- Mr. S. Gurumurthy, Mr. Subrata Roy, Chairman, Sahara group and  Mr. Satish Jha- the social entrepreneur and president of "One Laptop per Child"

In keeping with the theme, the events lined up for Avenues 2010, including Abhyutthan- the maketing innovation event, Nirvikriti- for sustainable tourism, all deal with change and  sustainable business evolution.

Navonmesh is the international entrepreneurship convention, which highlights the hurdles faced by start-ups with regard to innovative and sustainable business ideas. Ashwamedh is a case study, which will help participants to understand how the mysterious Private Equity firms operate. In addition to these, there will be online quizzes and entertaining, on-the spot games.

With this exciting combination of fun and learning, Avenues 2010 promises to be a truly memorable event, which sends a meaningful message about change and sustainability to all b-school students.
