The 2010 edition promises to bring the untapped potential of aspiring managers as well as the pearls of wisdom offered by the veterans to the forefront. A glimpse of what to expect at Prerana this year follow.

Prerana Business Meet marks the commencement of the three day extravaganza. PBM brings together corporate bigwigs all under the same roof to expound on contemporary issues. The discourse this time is centered around "Game Changers: Leadership lessons for turbulent times from India Inc ." The visionaries deliberating on the issue are Mr. Adi Godrej, Chairman, Board of Governors, NITIE and Chairman, Godrej group; Mr. B. Prasada Rao, Chairman & MD, BHEL; Mr.Gunit Chadha , CEO, Deutsche Bank Group, India; Mr. Lamon Rutten, MD & CEO, MCX; Mr.V.Vaidyanathan, Vice Chairman & MD, Future Capital Holdings.

The Summer Project Contest, the flagship Event of Prerana, is the first and foremost event of its kind in the country. It provides a platform for the students to benchmark their summer projects against the best in the nation. Students present their internship presentations to the revered jury with details about the challenges faced, initiatives undertaken and solutions devised over their two month stint in the corporate world. It gives them an opportunity to not only have their work reviewed by eminent industrialists, but also rub shoulders with the best talent that the country has to offer in their area of specialization. This year, the Summer Project Contest has received over 300 entries. The contest has five modules for Marketing, Finance, IT, HR and SCM thus covering all aspects of management. It is one of the most respected events on the Prerana schedule and is actively sought after by B-School students from top colleges like IIMs, XLRI, MDI, FMS,SP Jain, JBIMS etc.

PBQ (Prerana Business Quiz) has been the most anticipated and coveted quiz in the B-School circuit since its inception in 2001. The stage will be set for a corporate vs student showdown, and this is one that will go all the way to the wire. The Prerana Business Quiz traditionally serves as a fitting climactic finale to Prerana. With Dhananjay S. upholding the mantle of the quizmaster, PBQ-2010 is poised to be a cracker of an event.

Another unique event in the offering is the Last Samurai, honoring the ultimate management aficionado who wins it all. Tested here is the last man standing who surmounts all odds and proves his mettle in all facets of management, indeed looking out for the CEO in making.

This year the fest has corporate participation from 54 companies with special PPI offers as prizes for live case study competitions like Stratagem-SCM, Launchpad-Marketing, Beat the Street-Finance etc. These events provide a platform for the top recruiters like Reckitt Benckiser, State Bank of India, BPCL, Hindustan Motors etc to handpick some of the best talents on campus.

An added attraction this time is the rendezvous with Prahlad Kakkar, leading Indian ad film director, in Cita-De-La Prerana which provides an unparalled opportunity for the audience to interact with the guest of honour and gain an insight into the intricacies of brand management and other current issues.

Exemplifying NITIE's 'work hard and party harder" mantra is the musical delight DECIBELZ which provides an opportunity to the participants to let their hair down and unwind to the mellifluous tunes of India's highest awarded Indie Rock Band "MotherJane". Also present will be the exuberant rock band "Ashwamedh" to enchant the 4000 odd rock enthusiasts.

The three day fiesta thus continues NITIE's legacy to inspire the harbingers of change and provides them a platform to showcase their groundbreaking ideas.
