AISFM to launch India's first MBA with
double qualification, specializing in
film and media management in October

Hyderabad, 27th September, 2012: Annapurna International School of Film and Media (AISFM), India's premier film school has announced today that they will be launching India's first MBA with double qualification specializing in Film and Media Management in the month of October.

Students would be awarded dual qualifications once they complete the course Government-recognized MBA degree in media and entertainment and an industry-recognized PG Program in Film and Media management.  After launching India's first ever BFA and MA degrees in Film and Media, AISFM is set to begin this unique course in management.

With the media industry growing at around double the speed of the overall economy and the entry of big Corporates in the industry, there would be tremendous scope for job growth Parallely.  While most of the industry is facing a talent shortage, one of the biggest requirements is on the management side.

When film, TV, Advertising and Animation Studios are looking for management staff, their recruitment choices are extremely limited. Mass Comm students lack technical and management training, film students have no management skills while standard MBA students lack knowledge of the media industry.

Commenting on the occasion, Nagarjuna, President of AISFM said, "We have heard this feedback from across the industry companies are looking for staff who not only understand film production but also are trained in marketing, management, finance and communication. AISFM has responded to the industry's request."

Chris Higgins, Vice President - Marketing & Admissions of AISFM said
, "This MBA with double qualification in film and media has been designed with extensive industry consultation. Our placement partners have been clear on the skills and training that they require in new staff. The course will produce the next generation of India's film and media managers."

In addition to the standard business MBA subjects, the students will be taught about the film, broadcast and new media industries, including hands-on practical training. Students will also take part in large media projects as part of their course. There is significant interaction with the other courses at the school for example an MBA student might be creating marketing plans for the films that the Master's students are filming.

The first intake commences in October and admissions are closing soon.
