Top colleges gear up for the western India regional finals of Global Business Challenge 2013


14 March 2013, Mumbai: The CIMA Global Business Challenge 2013 (GBC 2013), a unique global case study competition for undergraduate students, has announced the shortlist for its western India regional round. The shortlisted teams are from BITS Pilani Goa; Sardar Patel Institute of Technology; Narsee Monjee College of Commerce And Economics; Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies ASM; St. Andrews College and wild card entrant from Mumbai as Grey Sells winners.

These teams will compete against each other for Western India regional winner's position at:

Venue: Hotel Ramada, Juhu, Mumbai
Date: March 16th, 2013

After an unparalleled success and growth story, the CIMA Global Business Challenge is in the fifth year of play in India. GBC witnessed a participation of more than 30,000 students from 22 different countries and 400 plus universities in the year 2012. In India, over 422 teams participated in the first round of GBC 2013. These eight teams were chosen, on the basis of the case study report that was submitted. This report was judged by middle and senior management from various organizations, who are CIMA members and students.

Arati Porwal, Chief Representative, CIMA India said, "CIMA strives to inculcate leadership traits in student community by providing a global platform such as Global Business Challenge. It gives undergraduate students in the country an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills in the field of business. We are pleased to receive such a great response from colleges in Mumbai and Goa."

This year's case challenge is based on the Toy industry. At the zonal rounds, the selected teams will present their solution and will be assessed by a panel of judges, who are from the senior leadership; CXO's of industry and are CIMA members.

The selected teams will analyse, report and present their cases to these eminent judges. The Indian winners of the GBC 2013 will compete at the global level in South Africa.
