Dr. Pallam Raju, Hon'ble Minister of HRD, Govt. of India will inaugurate
the Indian Business Museum at IIM Kozhikode during their
15th Annual Convocation on Saturday, March 23, 2013

Kozhikode, 22nd March 2013:
IIM Kozhikode, one of the young IIMs, within a short span of over a decade, has emerged as a 'Center of Excellence in Management'. The institute embarked on an ambitious journey to create an Indian Business Museum in 2011 which will be inaugurated by Dr. MM Pallam Raju, Hon'ble Minister of HRD, Govt. of India on Saturday 23rd March 2013, marking a significant step in acknowledging the contribution of India's business leaders in the making of India.

The museum is housed in IIMK's world class library with the objective to inspire the aspiring young entrepreneurs in the country. The museum houses memoirs from major business stakeholders in the country such as Tata Group, Godrej, Reliance, Infosys, RBI etc.

There are huge pictorial displays of Indian history from the pre-independence era to the post independence liberalization. The museum has given significant importance to the constitution of Indian political and social system besides attributing to the past and current industry trends such as retail, textiles, auto, BFSI etc.

Speaking about the inauguration, Prof. Chatterjee, Director, IIMK said, "This day marks a significant milestone in the history of business education in India. We at IIM Kozhikode are privileged to be able to pioneer the institutionalization of a rich storehouse of knowledge in the form of the Indian Business Museum"

IIMK's 15th Annual Convocation will include 327 graduating students of which over 30% women students will be empowered to lead Indian and International markets.

Post the convocation, IIMK, in presence of these eminent policy formulators - Dr. Pallam Raju, Hon'ble Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Lord Meghnad Desai, Professor-Emeritus, London School of Economics and stake holders, on Sunday March 24, 2013, is hosting a panel discussion on 'How the Best of India will reach out to the Rest of India?' with an intention to formulate the roadmap for higher education in India from 9:30 am to 11 am.
