School of Business Studies is going to organize a National Conference on "Business Rethinking And INnovative Solutions TOgether for Reinventing Management" - BRAINSTORM to be held during February 26 – 27, 2014.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

1. To provide a forum to committed academicians, corporate leaders, budding management practitioners, burgeoning managers, eminent researchers, management scholars & students to deliberate and disseminate not only the management theories, concepts or models but also to share their research and live management & administrative experiences.

2. To provide a conducive environment and opportunity to rethink the business in current scenario and offer innovative solutions for reinventing management principles and practices, much relevant to contemporary world.

3. To discuss the issues of responsibilities of corporate world towards the Customers, Suppliers, Stakeholders, Government, and Society at large to explore out-ofthe- box solutions.

4. To explore best management concepts, models and practices for developing, integrating and delivering management solutions in today's too fierce globally competitive world.

This will be achieved through multi-disciplinary research-based ideas generation and discussions. The attempt is to bring richness in discussion by encouraging contributions from researchers across academic institutions and people from corporate / industry. The Conference will include tutorials, networking sessions, keynote speeches, paper presentations and panel discussions.

TRACK OF RESEARCH OR AREAS OF INTEREST

The Papers should broadly address the conference theme and the issues related to the Business Strategies and Practices with respect to the World Economy in general and Emerging Economies in particular. The contribution of ideas needs to be original and research based or case study with respect to either industries or individuals pertaining to the economies of the world. They could be on any of the aspects of the theme of the Conference, but not necessarily limited to the areas given below:

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The authors are requested to send the extended abstracts of their research papers / articles not exceeding 300 words. Abstract must include a clear indication of the purpose, research methodology, major results and implications. Abstract should be followed by a few keywords however not exceeding five in numbers. The author(s) should clearly mention under what area of interest of the conference the abstract is to be included. The guidelines are as follows:

Length     : 250–300 words excluding title, cover page, etc.
Font        : Times New Roman
Font Size  : 12 points
Spacing    : 1.5
Title page : Title, author(s)' affiliation(s), contact details including active
                 email and mobile number.

The abstract in the aforesaid format is to be sent to the Conference conveners at
vinc14@vips.edu. Acceptance of the research paper / article is subject to double blind review process. The experts will review the paper and only those approved by the reviewers, will be selected. Authors will be notified of acceptance of the paper within one week of submission. Acceptance of the paper implies that at least one of the authors will attend the conference and present the paper. In case a paper is submitted for presentation in absentia, a processing fee of ` 500/- per paper would be charged. Accepted papers will be considered for publication either in the proceedings of the conference or in the wellrenowned International Journal of the institute.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF FULL-LENGTH PAPERS

A soft copy (Microsoft Word) of the full-length paper selected for presentation at the conference will have to be submitted to the conveners of the conference to vinc14@vips.edu latest by January 27, 2014. Each contribution should be organized in the following order:

* Introduction
* Literature Review
* Objectives of the Study
* Research Methodology
* Main body of the article
* Practical Significance / Usefulness
* Major Results / Findings / Implications
* Conclusions or Summary
* Reference
* Appendices (where applicable)

The contributors / authors should adhere to the following:

1. An electronic version of the manuscript in MS Word format should be submitted via E-mail to the conveners of the conference at vinc14@vips.edu.

2. Manuscript should be of 3000-4000 words approximately, excluding tables, graphs & charts.

3. All text should be in 1.5 space with 1-inch margins on all the sides on 8027 "x 11.69" (A4) size paper using the Font Times New Roman of size 12.

4. The first page of the manuscript should have the title of the paper; name of the author/s; organizational affiliation; complete mailing address; mobile number; fax number, if any; and active e-mail address. Please do not indicate author name, affiliation, or any other such information in the manuscript elsewhere.

5. Second page of manuscript should include the accepted abstract.

6. All tables, charts, and graphs should be placed wherever required along with the respective text and numbered continuously as Table 1 / Figure 1 / Graph 1 and so on at the top of the table / figure / graph (centered aligned). The sources, wherever necessary, should be mentioned at the bottom.

7. Last page of the manuscript must have a brief autobiographical sketch of the author(s), about 100-150 words for each author.

8. References should be arranged in alphabetical order and use the APA (American Psychological Association) Guidelines.

9. All the authors/contributors have to submit in original the duly signed copy of the Cer tificate of Originality. The same can be downloaded from

PUBLICATION OF PROCEEDINGS

Selected papers will be considered for publication in the proceedings of the conference bearing an ISBN number. A complimentary copy of the book will be provided to all the contributors/authors.

PAPER PRESENTATION COMPETITION

The conference will also have a paper presentation competition which would be conducted in two categories i.e., "Academicians & Corporate People" and "Research Scholars* & Students" The contributors desirous of participating in the Paper Presentation Competition will fill in the separate Paper Presentation Competition Form which can be downloaded and printed from http://www.vips.edu/vinc14/download.php

The Best First Three Papers will be awarded as follows:

For Academicians & Corporates

First Prize     : Rs.12000/- and Certificate of Appreciation
Second Prize : Rs.8000/- and Certificate of Appreciation
Third Prize    : Rs.5000/- and Certificate of Appreciation

For Research Scholars* and Students

First Prize     : Rs.5000/- and Certificate of Appreciation
Second Prize : Rs.3000/- and Certificate of Appreciation
Third Prize    : Rs.2000/- and Certificate of Appreciation
*Pursuing M.Phil and Ph.D. but not into teaching.

The papers will be evaluated on the following parameters:

* Research content
* Innovation / Newness of the Concept
* Originality
* Concept Clarity
* Practical Usefulness / Significance
* Presentation Skills

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

* The conference will have different technical & parallel sessions
* Each session shall be chaired by an expert from academia/industry
* Presentation by author(s), 10 - 12 minutes
* Discussions/Questions & Answers, 3 - 5 minutes
* Authors have to mail their presentations to vinc14@vips.edu
* Audio – Visual support to the presenters will be provided for presentation

REGISTRATION FEE

The Last date for Registration is January 27, 2014. The Registration Form can be downloaded and printed from http://www.vips.edu/vinc14/download.php. The Registration Fee can be paid either through D.D or Cheque in the favor of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies payable at New Delhi. Participants are encouraged to register for the conference early to take advantage of Early bird registration fee.

All the participants are requested to register by filling the registration form. One author must get registered for inclusion of the paper in proceedings of the conference. Single author presenting multiple entries should register for each paper. No TA/DA will be paid to any delegate who presents the paper in the conference.
