Mumbai, 4th September' 2014:
La Trobe University (LTU), Australia's senior delegation visited India along with Australian Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Abbott recently with special focus to further enhance the existing relations between the two countries.
The senior delegation headed by Professor Leigh Drake, Executive Dean for Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, La Trobe University spoke about creating new and
improved opportunities for the students of both countries and endless avenues for them through various study and exchange programs.
MOU WITH KINGS XI PUNJAB
LTU signed a Research MOU with the IPL team Kings XI Punjab in presence of Hon'ble PM of Australia, Mr. Tony Abott. Under the agreement both sides shall work on joint programs, activities,
projects and research in training and education in the areas of sport management and sport science. There will be staff professional development and research opportunities between the parties. La Trobe students will also be offered
internship opportunities by Kings Punjab XI during IPL tournaments.
Professor Drake said "La Trobe University's constant endeavour to keeping creating improved opportunities for students of both the countries has
brought us back to India again this year."
Talking about the MOU he said "Under the New MOU with Kings XI Punjab, we are undertaking research into mutually agreed topics such as fan engagement, marketing and promotional
practices, and other areas of value for the franchise."
MOU WITH MYSORE UNIVERSITY
In its continuous endeavour to broaden the scope for students, LTU also assigned a MOU with University of Mysore in the
area of student mobility under India connect program.
The University is additionally looking at opportunities to discuss tie-ups in more areas with Partner Institutes such as Lady Shriram College, Sharda University, XLRI
Jamshedpur.
AUD$300,000 NEW SCHOLARSHIPS ANNOUNCED
Students at La Trobe University, Australia students are always encouraged to aim high in their studies. To this end the School of Business has
always placed special focus on offering them Scholarships for academically deserving students. This year too New Scholarships worth Over Quarter a million Dollars
have been announced by Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, La Trobe University for International students for year 2015.

MOU WITH GIAN JYOTI INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY
In the area of sports, where LTU plans to have an Articulation Agreement with Gian Jyoti where their MBA students after first
year of their education with Gian Jyoti will have the option to enroll with La Trobe for 1 year and study Sports Management specialization with La Trobe, Australia.
NEW ONLINE MBA: FOR THE WORKING PROFESSIONALS
The University officials also spoke about the introduction of a new Online MBA for working professionals. The course includes 10 core subjects and two electives, allowing students to specialise in either Entrepreneurship or
International Management. Students also complete two professional experience activities: an ePortfolio and a final boardroom simulation that brings together all the elements of their course.
OCTOBER INTAKE: TO MEET THE EVER GROWING DEMAND
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law is seeing a significant demand for their Business courses among South Asian students and hence announced their decision to
introduce October intake.

AMITABH BACHCHAN SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCED RECENTLY
Mr. Roshan Kumar from India was the winner of the Amitabh Bachchan Scholarship recently. His research topic is: "Social Media aiding Healthcare Communication in
India: A Knowledge Management perspective."
Dr. Suzanne Zyngier is a co-supervisor of the recipient of first Amitabh Bachchan Scholarship. She is traveling as a part of the delegation to South Asia
