IMT Ghaziabad's unique social initiative 'CYCLOTHON'15' brings Delhi together to raise voice for the alarming pollution threat

Ghaziabad/New Delhi, September 15,2015 :- Celebrating the spirit of 'International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer' and creating awareness on 'Environmental Sustainability', IMT Ghaziabad organized CYCLOTHON'15, a unique social initiative to convey the message of 'Ride Today to Protect Tomorrow' in Delhi. IMT partnered with Green Peace, Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) and independent cycling group Delhi Cyclist for CYCLOTHON'15 to spread awareness on the rising graph of pollutionin the capital.

IMT organized the 3rd edition of CYCLOTHONafter the consecutive success of last editions CYCLOTHON'13 and CYCLOTHON'14.This year, IMT Ghaziabad endorsed the theme 'Ride Today to Protect Tomorrow' considering the various environmental issues harming the atmospheric state.The event received massive participation from hundreds ofcycling enthusiasts ranging from children to adults and sharing a common platform for a cause to revamp the environmental conditions and foster cycling as a healthy way of sports activity.

Encouraging the spirit of Young Cyclists group of Delhi, Cyclothon'15 was flagged off from Raisina Hill, Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.The event celebrated the 'International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer' to highlighthow citizens can take small steps towards reducing their carbon footprint.

Speaking about the CYCLOTHON'15, Vijayata Sharma from Green Peace said, "According toa survey, World Health Organization (WHO) found Delhi as the most polluted city in the world out of 1,600 cities. The CYCLOTHON'15 is a futuristic step to aware people about the environment issues in Delhi and bring them together on a single platform for awareness on reducing their carbon footprint.CYCLOTHON'15witnessed huge participation from people from different age groups. This shows that the people of Delhi are ready to take action on issues, which are related to their environment, health and fitness. "
