Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a revolutionary approach to communication and development and can be applied to many areas of human endeavour. It refers to the psychology of excellence and the technology of achievement and success  &examines different ways people think, feel, communicate with one another, and build relationships.

'Neuro' refers to the mind and how we organize our mental life. 'Linguistic' is about language, how we use it and how it affects us. 'Programming' is about our sequences of repetitive behavior and how we act with purpose. NLP is an accessible model to enhance effective communication, personal change and personal development.

The way we think affects the internal and external language and the concepts we hold. This is turn affect the way we behave. It is a dynamic and synergistic process: the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Any internal or external change to any of the components will have an impact on the whole.

NLP finds application in business, management, training, human recourses health, personal development, sales etc.

Main Benefits of Using NLP

NLP explores how we think and feel and studies or 'models' excellence in every walk of life. NLP is first and foremost about action. By using NLP we can give ourself more conscious choice over what we do and the way we act. Using NLP at work and in our personal life will sharpen our skills and boost our achievements. The theories and practices of NLP will help us discover what makes some people excel in all aspects of their lives, and will enable you to do the same.

The awareness of how we do what we want to do is the key to self-management and influence. We can't control people or events, but we can manage our response to them. Our skill and our ability to manage ourselves directly affect the extent to which we achieve our goals. Hence is crucial for managers especially in the current face of globalization.

Harnessing the Power of unconscious mind

Our unconscious mind has a far greater influence and can accomplish far more than the conscious. NLP practitioners make the unconscious conscious. They are more consciously aware of what they do unconsciously. This gives them the power of managing their personal development in a way that enables them to realize their true potential.

"NLP is a process of discovery and as such it is about continually uncovering new ways of thinking and working. It is a process of continuous learning and growth and is key to profound personal development.

Specific Skills Acquired by Using NLP Specific Skills You Can Acquire by Using NLP1

  • The ability to choose an emotional state and hold that state for as long as it is needed. These states may include concentration, confidence, enthusiasm, motivation, influence, or learning.
  • The ability to think creatively and to engender a culture of creativity in the organizations in which one lives and works.
  • The ability to speak using words and behaviors, which the listeners can both relate to and understand.
  • The ability to make decisions with commitment.
  • The ability to listen with the whole body in a way that allows us to hear both what is and what is not being said.

Taking a systems view of Things

NLP teaches to habitually take a systems view of things - to look at the different elements in a situation as parts of a system which functions for good or ill. This system involves people and a sequence of events, thoughts, feelings, actions and interactions. Once how the system is working is understood - for or against - we have a means of structuring things differently in the future and hence solve many of the complications in the day-to-day affairs.

The Four Main Pillars of NLP

Relationship and specifically that quality relationship of mutual trust and responsiveness known as rapport. Whatever we do and whatever we want, being successful will involve relating to and influencing others. So, the first pillar of NLP is to establish rapport with oneself and then others.

Setting your goal knowing what you want. Precision is the key to success. The more precise we know what it is that we want and why, more likely we are to get exactly what we want. And the more likely we are to know when we have achieved it. It is whole way of thinking - consistently ask others and ourselves what we/they want.

Sensory acuity using our senses: looking at, listening to and feeling what is actually happening to us. Only then will we know whether we are on course for our goal and can use this feedback to adjust what we are doing is necessary.

Behavioral flexibility have many choices of action. The more choices weu have, the more chances of success. If we do what we always did, we get what we always got. So keep changing what we do until we get what we want.

NLP has given rise to a trail of techniques that can be used both personally and professionally. They are used internationally in various business areas and enable not only to reach and influence others, but also to reach and perfect the different parts of us.

NLP can also help managers analyze success secrets of their best employees applied by intuition and teach others these secrets, thus "cloning" success without cloning people. In business, NLP is known for the difference it can make in areas such as negotiation, sales, communication, team work, motivation, leadership, setting goals, self development and much more. In personal life, NLP is highly useful and effective in m any areas such as dealing with challenges, improving relationships with family and friends and discovering what it is one really want in life and how to get it.
