Research Scholarships

Research Scholarships are available to outstanding university graduates who with to pursue full-time higher degree studies at the Nanyang Business School.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Our Ph.D. programmes combine coursework and dissertation, and are offered in six major areas of specialisation :
Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing & International Business, Strategy, Management & Organisation

Master of Accountancy/Master of Business (By Research)
Students in these programmes take some coursework & write a dissertation in an area of business research. Besides those areas offered in the Ph.D. programmes, the following areas of study are also available :
Actuarial Science & Insurance, Business Law, Operations Management, Business Law, Tourism Management.

Period of Candidature
Ph.D. : 3-5 years
Masters : 1-2 years

Admission Requirements
A good honours or a Master's degree.
An acceptable GMAT or GRE score, taken within the last three years.
A TOEFL score, taken within the last two years, is required for applicants whose medium of instruction at the tertiary level is not English.

Scholarship & Other Financial Aids
Research Scholarship (no bond) are available for all full-time students of the above programmes. It provides a monthly stipend of about S$1300 (US$1=S$1.70) and covers research fees.
Students may be required to assist in teaching (maximum 10 hours per week), for which they will be appropriately remunerated.

FORD FOUNDATION

International Fellowships Program

This innovative program provides 30 fellowships for Indian nationals to pursue format post-graduate or doctoral study at any university in the world. The program wishes to support exceptional individuals who will become leaders in their field furthering development and greater economic and social justice.
The program will actively recruit candidates from social groups that have been marginalized and lack systematic access to higher education (e.g. women, SC, ST, OBC, physically disabled and others with socio-eonomic deprivation). Candidates will be required to demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and commitment to community or national service.

K.C. Mahindra Scholarship

for POST-GRADUATE STUDIES ABROAD

The Trustees of K.C. Mahindra Education Trust offer Interest-Free Loan Scholarships to Indian Nationals for
Post-Graduate Studies Abroad in various Files

Applications are invited for the K.C. Mahindra Scholarships
for the year 2002 for advanced studies in
Engineering National Sciences, Humanities, Medicine &
Business Management
including the study of Military, Naval and Aviation Sciences.

The maximum amount of scholarship payable to any scholar shall not exceed Rs.95,000/-.
Applicants for these scholarships are required to satisfy
the following conditions.
* They must possess a First Class degree or an equivalent diploma of the same standard from a recognised Indian University.
* They must have secured admission or have applied for admission in reputable foreign Universities for courses commencing from
September, 2002 but not later than February, 2003.
Candidates studying in the Final Year of the degree or diploma courses are also eligible to apply provided they produce their
Final Year Certificate before end June, 2002
Government and Quasi-Government Officers with a creditable
academic record, going abroad for specialised qualifications are
also eligible to apply.

Prescribed application forms duly filled in by the applicants together with necessary enclosures must reach the Trust Office
before 28th March, 2002.
The final interview of the candidates will take place in the
2nd week of July, 2002. The interview date will be intimated to the selected candidates during the 1st week of March, 2002.
