National Doctoral Fellowship (NDF)

Preamble :
In pursuance of the Policy Framework for promotion of Post Graduate Education and Research in Technical Education as announced by Ministry of Human Resource Development, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offers NDF to eligible candidates to pursue Doctoral Programmes. Under the National Doctoral Fellowship (NDF) scheme fifty (50) Doctoral Fellowships will be offered every year to selected candidates in emerging areas/disciplines of Technical Education by AICTE to pursue Doctoral programme.
Objective :
To attract highly qualified and motivated candidates to pursue Doctoral degree and offer themselves for teaching positions in the Technical Education System. To provide research support to bright young candidates to pursuing exciting and innovative research in the field of Technical Education.
Details of Scheme :
* Scholarship @ Rs.12,000/- per month per candidate.
* Contingency grant of Rs.25,000/- per annum per candidate.
* Overhead charges of Rs.20,000/- per annum per candidate to the host Institution i.e. Institution
where the candidate is pursuing Ph.D. / Doctoral Programme.
Period of Fellowship :
The above scholarship shall be given for a period of 3 years. In the event of non-completion and Ph.D. Programme or equivalent within this period the scholarship can be extended up to one more year subject
to satisfactory performance of the candidate, as assessed by an independent Expert committee
appointed by AICTE.
Eligibility :
Those who have already secured admission as full time candidates and are in the first year of their doctoral programme in the selected Host Institutions given in the Annexure are eligible to apply. For details kindly refer the advertisement inviting applications for award of fellowship in the month of July.
Selection Procedure :
The candidates who satisfy the screening criteria as decided by AICTE, will have to appear for an interview. Based on the performance of the candidates in the interview, a merit list of candidates shall be prepared by the AICTE, from which the final selection of candidates for the scheme shall be made.

SCHOLARSHIPS
for Economically Disadvantaged Students

In pursuit of its dedication towards social causes AlMA has instituted scholarships of upto Rs.60,000/- each. These will be awarded to students from economically weaker sections of society undergoing management education in AICTE approved/University affiliated B-Schools.

Eligibility:
Minimum 60% marks in Graduation.
Should have been admitted in the B-School on merit
and not in the sponsored category.
Family income should be less than Rs.15000/ per month.

K.C. MAHINDRA
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST-GRADUATE STUDIES IN ABROAD

The Trustees of K.C. Mahindra Education Trust offer Interest-free
loan scholarships to Indian nationals for post-graduate studies
abroad in various fields.

Applications are invited for the K. C. Mahindra Scholarships for the
year 2005 for advanced studies in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities, Medicine & Business Management the study of
Military, Naval and Aviation Sciences.

The maximum amount of scholarship payable to any scholar shall not exceed Rs.95,000/-. Applicants for these scholarships are required
to satisfy the following conditions:

* They must possess a FIRST CLASS degree or an equivalent diploma of the same standard from a recognised Indian University.

*  They must have secured admission or have applied for admission in reputable foreign universities for courses commencing from
September 2005 but not later than February 2006.

Candidates studying in the FINAL YEAR of the degree or diploma courses are also eligible to apply provided they produce their
Final Year Certificate before end June 2005.

Government and Quasi-Government Officers with a creditable
academic record, going abroad for specialised qualifications
are also eligible to apply.

Preliminary applications should be forwarded to

Cecil Court, 3rd Floor, Near Regal Cinema, Mahakavi Bhushan Marg, Mumbai-400 001,
along with 25cms x 18cms self-addressed envelope with Rs.10/- postage stamps affixed, which should reach him not later than
28th February, 2005. The prescribed application form will be sent only to those candidates who are considered to have the requisite qualifications as stated above.

Prescribed application forms duly filled in by the applicants together with necessary enclosures must reach the Trust Office before
31st March 2005.

The final interview of the candidates will take place in the month of July 2005. The interview date will be intimated to the selected candidates during the 3rd week of May 2005.

J.N. TATA SCHOLARSHIPS

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for
the J.N. TATA ENDOWMENT LOAN SCHOLARSHIPS for the academic year 2005-2006 for higher studies abroad in all disciplines.
Selected scholars may also qualify for gift awards.

Eligibility Criteria :
Indian university, with a consistently good academic record. Students in the final year of the degree course and those awaiting results are eligible to apply. Academics and other mid-career professionals with a good academic background and experience in their field who wish to go abroad for further specialization are also considered.
Candidates applying for the scholarship should have applied for admission to Universities abroad for the Fall 2005 / Spring 2006 semesters. Applications of student awaiting admissions abroad will
also be considered. However, the final award is subject to
their securing admission.

Selection Process :
Candidates found suitable after the initial screening will be short-listed for an interview in person by subject experts. The final selection will
be on the basis of the interview which will be held at Mumbai
between March and June 2005.

Procedure for Applying :
Application forms will be issued from the administrative office of the Endowment at Mulla House, 51, M.G. Road, Mumbai-400 001, on payment of Rs.100/- by cash or by Money Order. The applicants
should give their full name and address in the
'Space for Communication' provided on both sides of
the money order form.
Last date for the issue of application forms is January 31, 2005

The trust will not be responsible for postal or other delays.
 
Amount of scholarship:
This is a loan scholarship where 50 per cent of the total tuition fee
up to a maximum of Rs.10 lac will be, allocated per scholar.
