There has been a growing realization in the industry as well as in the service sectors that effective business communication is the most fundamental input required to enhance competitiveness, innovation and effectiveness of organizations. In order to achieve corporate excellence, organizations are making large investments in human resource development. Systematic and well planned training and development strategy for professionals (business managers, IT professionals, engineers and techno-managers) help organizations not only in overcoming managerial deficiencies and obsolescence but also in preparing computer-savvy business professionals to take up larger responsibilities of managing business. The Institute The National Institute of Management Calcutta (NIMC) was established in July 1997 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi, to conduct state-of-art Management education with the discipline of the Services inculcated in it. The Institute is an approved B-School by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Kolkata. The Institute has been able to carve out a niche segment for itself, as it is ranked among the top B- Schools in the country – a fact that speaks volumes for the Institute's credibility to conduct such programme.
