2. Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Entrepreneurship (FasE)

The program has been designed to provide expertise to owners, entrepreneurs, middle and senior level business managers and decision makers in the fashion industry. It aims to build a strong professional foundation of technical and managerial ability for effective decision making. The highlights of the programme include global exposure with international visit and inputs from leading experts of the industry and academia nationally and internationally.

Duration: 18 Months (Three Semesters)

Eligibility : Bachelors Degree or equivalent from recognized University/Institute

Selection Criteria: Written Test & Personal Interview

Program Fee: Rs 3 Lakh for complete course

The Institute is a pioneer in envisioning and evolving fashion business education in the country through a network of thirteen professionally managed centres at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kangra, Kannur, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Raebareli and Shillong.

NIFT has set academic standards and excelled in thought leadership by providing a pool of creative genius and technically competent professionals. The Institute provides a common platform for fashion education, research and training.

NIFT Act 2006 published in the Gazette of India on 14th July, 2006 confers Statutory Status on NIFT. The Act came into effect from 1st April, 2007. The President of India is the 'Visitor' of the Institute under the Act. The Act empowers the Institute to award degree and other academic distinctions. NIFT will be the first premier Institute in the world to award its own Degrees in the field of fashion education.

NIFT offers Under Graduate (UG), Post Graduate (PG) and Ph.D Degree in Design, Management and Technology field. NIFT is founding member of International Federation of Fashion Technology Institute (IFFTI) and has signed MOU with more than 28 of International institutions.  NIFT has its Head Quarter's in New Delhi and is headed by Director General and each NIFT centre is managed by Director who are civil servants.

Graduation from a recognized University or Diploma in Accessory/Fashion design/FIT from NIFT only.

For foreign Bachelor's Degree, not recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, proper certification by a National Body constituted in the country concerned for grating equivalence will have to be produced.

Those in the final year of the degree program is also considered for certificate programmes.

Step 1

The candidates applying for MFM programme will be administered with General ability Test (GAT) and Managerial Ability Test (MAT) for the written entrance examination.

1. Master of Fashion Management (MFM)

About the Course

The objective of the two-year Master Programme in "Fashion Management" (erstwhile AMM) started in 1987 is to develop managerial talents in the field of fashion marketing, merchandising and retailing best suited to the requirements of the garment export and fashion retail sectors. Students undergo rigorous education in buying, merchandising (retail and export), retail operations, advertising, forecasting, international marketing, international trade practices and project formulation. They are exposed to creative merchandising/marketing, innovative fashion management practices, direction of fashion trends and business practices through field visits and industry internships. They have the right blend of hard and soft skills and possess the right attitude to enter the middle management of any growing organization

3. Fashion Retail Management (FRM)

This programme is designed to fulfill the specific training requirement of apparel retail organizations. It aims to develop fashion industry oriented retail professionals specialized in the area of retail buying and merchandising, store operations, supply chain management and visual merchandising.

Course Content: The programme gives insight into the principles of fashion marketing, retail buying and merchandising and impart basic fabric knowledge 0 from fibre to fabric and fabric to garment. It gives an overview of the concept of visual merchandising and lays emphasis on customer relationship management, brand management and sales management.

Careers: The programme equips the students to purse careers in apparel retail organizations as merchandisers, store managers, visual display experts, brand managers, customer care executives and image promoters.

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline or 3 year diploma from NIFT/NID. Preferably one year experience in related field.

Duration: One Year

4. Garment Export Merchandising Management (GEMM)

This programme is designed to fulfill the specific training needs of garment export establishment. The curriculum is planned as a series of interrelated modules that gradually upgrade garment export management and merchandising capabilities of the students. The programme instills holistic merchandise expertise in the students.

Course Content: The programme provides inputs in multifunctional areas like merchandising, principles and techniques of exports, fashion materials: fabric and trims, garment production and quality management, and international trade practices, procedures and management.

Careers: The programme prepares professionals for the garment industry to pursue careers as merchandiser, sampling coordinators, quality controllers and sourcing agents.

Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline or 3 year diploma from NIFT/NID. Preferably one year experience in related field.

Duration: One Year
