Prof. A.K. Puri

Prof. A.K. Puri is the Director General of the Institute. He has been a Senior Professor at FORE School of Management, Delhi and Professor at sInstitute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad for over 18 years. He has 14 years of experience in Banking. He has been a visiting faculty at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He is a member of the Board of Governors in a couple of educational institutes. He is an examiner and moderator for Institute of Company Secretaries of India.He has conducted a large number of Management Development Programs both for private and public sector organisations. He has also organized and conducted Faculty Development Programs for faculty of business schools. In his illustrated career, he has initiated a series of innovative strategic steps to strengthen academic activities and improve academic work culture.Prof. Puri has pioneered and introduced innovative Management Development Program activities at IMT, Ghaziabad and Fore School of Management as the Chairman of MDP's. His areas of Interest are International Financial Management, Security Analysis & Portfolio Management, Forex Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Financial Derivatives, Management of Banking, Insurance Management & International Business Strategy.

Prof. Vinay Auluck

Prof. Vinay Auluck is a Senior Professor in the area of Strategic Management, International Project Management and Ethics and Business. He is a technocrat with total professional experience of 38 years - over 25 years in senior managerial positions in India's premier high technology institutions such as Indian Space Research Organizations and Computer Maintenance Corporation, and  13 years as faculty in reputed management institutes vis. IMT, Ghaziabad, and Sringeri Sharada Institute of Management, Delhi. He was also a research affiliate for the programme for Information Resource Policy at Harvard University. He is an alumnus of IIT, Mumbai and IIM, Ahmedabad.  His academic interests include performance evaluation of enterprises & individuals, innovation and creativity in business design & modeling in knowledge based industries, capability building through empowerment, managing diversity and transformational leadership, managing projects in international setting.  He has worked on a project titled- 'Govt. of India's Telecom/Computer Policies' published as Collaborative Project with Harvard University in 1992.

Prof. Santosh Sood

Prof. Santosh Sood is a Senior Professor of Advertising Management, Brand Management and Customer Relation Management. He is BE (Mechanical) from Delhi College of Engineering and PGDM from IIM-A. Prof Sood is known person in the Advertising world. He has a rich experience of working with various Advertising Agencies, vis. Rediffusion DYR as CEO General Manager at Lowe, Vice President at Sista's Saatchi and Saatchi. He is renowned Consultant on Brand and Marketing Strategy. He has been a visiting faculty at IMT, Ghaziabad and is a Guest Faculty  at IIM, Lucknow, and Symbiosis Institute, Pune. The list of his clients includes various FMCG companies, Consumer Durable companies and other services companies. He has worked for social causes with different organizations such as UNICEF, National Drinking Water Mission, NACO, Oxfam and the other services industries .He has also been a Marketing Consultant.

Dr. Sridhar Panda

Dr. Sridhar Panda is a Professor in International Business.  He is Director (PGP & Academics) at Fortune Institute.  Having Masters in Economics from Utkal University, he is M.Phil. and Ph.D. from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His area of interest are Regional Business Policies, WTO Matters and International Economics. He has published several research articles and also presented papers in National and International Seminars. Dr Panda has coordinated seminars on 'Indo - EU Interface: Focus on Trade, Investment &Technology Transfer', 'Global Opportunities in Textiles & Clothing - The Indian Response', 'Appreciation  of Rupee- Its implications for India' and 'Trade Promotion and Trade Protection Measures in the Global Trading System'. He been nominated a member of Research Committee and Examination Committee of All India Management Association. He has also conducted a few workshops on 'Cross Cultural Communication' in Delhi and Ludhiana for members of Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) under FIIB-FIEO joint initiative. Prof. K M Kumar is an Assistant Professor in Global Economic Environment and Business Economics.  He is Director (Admissions) at Fortune Institute.  His area of interest are International Business and Economics. Prof Kumar holds Masters degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi School of Economics in International Relations and International Business respectively. He is actively involved in the Executive Development Programmes conducted by FIIB on EXIM Policy & International Trading Operations and Logistics. INSTITUTE INFRASTRUCTURE

Library
The fully air-conditioned library at Fortune Institute functions as the main learning resource center of the Institute and provides services and facilities to meet the knowledge and information requirements of the institute's wide ranging academic activities.

The current stock of print titles is around 12,000 books, inclusive of Foreign and Indian books covering various aspects of management and business such as International Business, Logistics Management, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and International Marketing. 191 periodicals and Journals subscribed by the library are vital sources for academic research and provide up-to-date business information. It also holds projects undertaken in about 200 major companies.

The collection in library includes 300 audio-visual and multimedia formats.  The library subscribes to two online electronic databases of CMIE vis.India Trades and Prowess. These databases are up-to-date authentic resources for acquiring information related to Indian Commodities and Indian Companies. Institute also subscribes to EBESCO which is a rich source of more than 1200 online national and international Journals.

The library has established institutional membership with four other major libraries for arranging required material as common pool inclusive of DELNET (Developing Library Network), AIRC (American Information Resource Centre) BCL (British Council Library) and Max Mullar Bhawan. The library has all modern equipments like Library Automation Software LS-Ease-LIBSYS, desktops and scanner with printer to support its diverse range of activities. Library operation and services are fully computerized.

Publications
The Institute brings out bi-annual journal titled 'Fortune Journal of International Management (FJIM)'. It publishes original research-based articles, perspectives, cases on topics of current concern and book reviews in all areas of management. In addition, the Institute's research work is published in the form of study reports, status papers, articles for wider dissemination of knowledge among business community and academia. Institute also publishes 'Fortune Times's, a quarterly magazine.  It keeps all stakeholders of Fortune Institute abreast with the latest activities related to Institute. It publishes contributions from faculty, students, alumni and also carries out reports on the activities of Fortune Institute.

Computer Facilities
The Institute has a 'State-of-Art-Computer-Lab' with 176 terminals on Local Area Network (LAN) connected to windows 2003 server through CISCO Switches. All Computers are Pentium-IV machines while the IBM & HP Server acts as the flipside of the Network. The Computer Lab services are available to students from early morning till late evening hours, facilitating project and research work. The Internet facility connected with RF line of 2 mbps from Spectranet provides instant access to a range of information and at the same time helps keep in touch with rest of the world in real time. The Wi-Fi Campus smoothens the work inside the Institute. In addition all the faculty members have been provided with laptops.  All students joining the institute in 2009 will be provided individual laptop free of cost. 

Students Committees
With a view to prepare students as future managers, responsibilities are assigned for various activities through committees.  A Faculty member heads the each of the committee.

1. Placement Committee: The committee deals with all matters relating to placement of students for ensuring timely action for placement, quality of placement, laying down procedures and systems, evolving effective feedback mechanism form FIIB Alumni and employers etc.
2. Students Activity Committee (Academic):-The committee deals with generation of new ideas and organising debates, seminars, colloquium through students efforts for professional excellence and knowledge up gradation.
3. Student's activity Committee (Cultural):- The committee deals with cultural events and gets them organised through student's participation.
4. Student's Activity Committee (Administration and Sports):-The committee deals with issues related to administrative matters like infrastructure, transport, accommodation, canteen facilities etc. It also deals with promotion of sports to ensure student's participation.
5. Students Activity Committee (Informational Technology):- The committee deals with issues related to IUT and organise IT oriented activities.
6. News letter Committee:- This committee is in charge  of the quarterly newsletter of  FIIB "Fortune Times" which has circulated among alumni, corporate houses and business schools.

Academic Industry Interface
Interface with top executives & other personalities of eminence enables students to acquire and imbibe innovative ideas, thoughts & experiences by knowledge sharing. The dialogue session following the interface further augments & fortifies the knowledge base of students. The interaction with the policy makers, corporates and academicians has become a big support to widen the horizon of knowledge of students.  As a part of this activity CEO Talk are arranged on regular basis.

Management Development Programmes (MDP)
Fortune Institute of International Business conducts Management Development Programmes that are designed with the objective of organisations meeting growing challenges and intense competition in the ever evolving business environment.  Through these open programmes organisations can enhance efficiency and strengthen their management systems.  These MDP's facilitate executives working at all levels in business and industry in private, public, government or non-government sectors to acquire and upgrade their skill sets.

These programmes use the right mix of conceptual knowledge and application, delivered by experienced training facilitators using modern pedagogy tools inclusive of role plays, management games, simulations, case studies and discussions to make learning comprehensive and spontaneous.

The institute also conducts in-company programmes.  These programmes are specially conceived and customized to the identified needs.  The MDP's provide relevant training to executives to enable them take on a leadership role in their position individually and collectively. The focus of these programmes is to give participants the perspective required to help their organisations achieve objectives in an efficient and effective manner.

Corporate Interaction Division (CID)
Corporate Interaction Division (CID) is a student interface between Fortune Institute and industry, responsible for providing the students with flavour of real life organizational dynamics and familiarizing them with the issues of concern. This is facilitated by inviting eminent industry experts of weekly guest lectures. Workshops and conclaves on contemporary issues expose the FIIBians to dynamics of the business world.  CID through its activities endeavor to provide a platform for the future manager and corporate heads to deliberate, debate and discuss the relevant and contemporary aspects of business and effectively synthesize the academic knowledge of the former with the later's practical wisdom.

Exchange Program
The Institute has an exchange program with Sam M. Walton College.  Dr. Alan. E. Ellstrad and Dr. Vikas Anand from Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, USA along with 18 students had visited Fortune Institute as a part of student Exchange program from 27th December 2007 to 11th   January 2008.

Another group of 2 faculty and 16 students is scheduled to visit Fortune Institute between December 2008 to January 2009.  The aim is to facilitate exchange of ideas and thoughts  on subjects such as Retail, Pricing etc.

Visits to Trade Related Organisations
Visit to trade related organizations in the port cities at Mumbai/Chennai/Cochin is an integral part of the curriculum. This provides an opportunity to students to acquire first hand knowledge about working of port administration, customs collectorate, shipping and other trade facilitating agencies. Also interactive sessions with corporate managers are arranged during these visits.

Besides, Institute also organizes field visits to students to organizations and industries in and around Delhi.  The visits provide practical exposure of working atmosphere in the industries. Visits to organizations such as Inland Container Depot at Patparganj/container Depot at Tuglakabad, India Trade Promotion Organisations, Pragati Maidan and some manufacturing units such as New Holland Tractors and Escorts etc. are organized to explain the practical business operations to students.

Research, Consultancy and Training Program
Faculty at Fortune Institute  organise  seminars and conferences on topical issues in International Business, Financial Management, Market Survey, Mergers and Acquisition and Project Management.  Besides, it also tracks capital market and takes up engagement surveys.  The Institute also takes up research and consultancy work in International Business and related issues as well as conducts training programmes and workshops for various companies. Faculty members work on projects sponsored by National & International Agencies such as World Bank, ICSSR, and AICTE etc. They have been developing case studies in different functional areas and some of these cases have been published also. He is an MBA from FMS, New Delhi.  He has done his Diploma in Corporate Laws and Secretarial Practice from Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, CAIIB  (Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers) from Indian Institute of  Bankers, Bombay and M.Sc. from Delhi University. 

He has been a Senior Professor at FORE School of Management, Delhi and Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad for over 18 years. He has 14 years experience in banking as Manager with expertise in Bank Accounting, Banking Operations, Credit Management, Foreign Exchange Management, Merchant Banking, Marketing of Banking and Human Relations in Banking.

He has been teaching courses in Financial Management, Investment Management and Portfolio Management, Forex and Risk management, Financial Derivatives, International Financial Management, Commercial Banking, Entrepreneurship Development and Strategic International Business. He has been a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, Department of Operations Research, University of Delhi, All India Management Association, Delhi and National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad. The three year part time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme is designed keeping in view the commitment of Fortune Institute to impart knowledge and skills to meet the country's growing requirements for trained personnel in the field of business management.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Part Time programme is a general management programme with specialization in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and International Business streams.

The Part Time PGDM programme is approved by AICTE.

Class Timings:
Evening hours - 6:30 p.m. to 9: 00 p.m. on week days.

Course Fee:
Rs. 1,20,000/- per year.
Security Deposit : Rs. 15,000/- (Refundable after end of the Program).

Eligibility for admission:
* Graduation from any recognized University / Institution.
* Preference would be given to candidates with work experience and candidates with professional qualifications e.g. CA, ICWA, ICSI, CFA, AMIE, MBBS etc.
