ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Indian Institute of Science and Management (IISM), Ranchi, was established in 1985 under the chairmanship of Dr. Sachhidanand, the then vice-chancellor of Ranchi University.IISM has been offering its two year Post Graduate Programme in Business Management to young and bright students since its inception.Sixteen batches of students have passed out from the Institute so far. Besides its full time diploma in business management, the Institute also offers a three year part time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management for working professionals.IISM is also active in offering management and entrepreneurship development programmes.

Computing : IISM, Ranchi continues to keep pace with the latest developments in information technology through a network of computers. This technology has made teaching, learning, documentation, research and development more effective than ever before. The computer is an indispensable management and decision making tool. The Computer Centre has the state-of-the-art infrastructure, well equipped with the latest Hardware & Software. The centre is fully Air-conditioned and the latest versions of wide ranging software packages such as Windows 95 & 98, Windows NT Server, Visual Studio (Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual FoxPro, Visual J++), MsOffice 2000, FrontPage 98, Oracle 8i Server and Oracle 8i Personal Edition, Norton Anti Virus 2000, E-X, Lotus are available to faculty, students and other IT programmes. Out of 35 Computers (Pentium/Multimedia) installed at the centre 20 are clinets including 2 servers working on LAN environment of Windows NT platform. Among the periphral devices the centre has 1 Laser Printer, 5 InkJet printers and 3 DMPs.

Library : The library, a growing collection of books, periodicals, including latest publications in management and related subjects. The current stock includes of around 11,000 books including both Foreign & Indian publications. Besides, the library subscribes to over 100 national & international periodicals. In addition, the library has a good collection of statistical data sources, project-reports and annual reports of 400 major companies. An audio-visual corner in the library has a varied collection of audio and video cassettes on management topics. The library collection is computerised and the user can access data independently. Recently the library has been linked to internet facilities.

ELIGIBILITY

Step 1	How to apply Application form and the Prospectus can be obtained from the Admission Office of the Institute on Payment of Rs.500 by cash at the counter or Rs.550 in shape of D.D. in favour of IISM, payable at Ranchi. The complete application form must be accompanied with the following documents : Photocopies of certificates, degrees and diploma from schools, colleges and universities, Date of birth certificates, Two passport size photographs

Step 3	Group Discussion and Viva-Voce Candidates desirous of seeking admission have to appear Management Aptitude Test (ATMA). Conducted by Association of Indian Management School. Based on the scores of ATMA (Test) Candidates will be called for Group Discussion, Personal Interview.Candidate fulfilling the eligibility criteria would be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The final selection will be based on the candidates Performance in the aptitude test, Group discussion, Personal Interview and Candidates past academic performance.
