COMPUTER CENTRE: The institute has always attached special importance to the use of Information Technology by the academic community. It's state-of-the art IT facilities are perhaps the best among the premier Institutes of Management studies in the region. The computing centre helps students in gathering relevant information from the global resources and prepares them with a framework to build their knowledge. As part of the efforts to develop centres of excellence in different areas of management, the computing facilities support teaching, research and training activities. The hardware resources of the institute include Wire-less networking (Campus wide Wi-Fi network), Network servers, Dedicated Internet and Intranet email services, Laptop's with Wi-Fi network, Desktop PCs, Multimedia PCs, Photo Scanners, DVD/CD-writers and Laser Printers etc. All the computing tools are interconnected through a switch based network with 100 mbps backbone and 100 mbps dedicated access using fiber optic cable (OFC) and CAT6 cables. Internet access is provided using BSNL Broadband Technology connectivity of 2 Mbps.

SOFTWARE: All the servers are running on Red-hat Linux 9.0 Operating System. All other clients are working on Windows'98 and Windows XP Professional Operating System. Other application software's include MS-Office 2000 Professional, Visual studio, MS-SQL server, Tally. Database Software's like Prowess from CMIE, Intranet and Internet etc.

LIBRARY: "WITHOUT BOOKS LEARNING IS INCOMPLETE"

The Libraries are backbones to all academic activities. Our Library houses an excellent collection of Text Books, Journals, Magazines, Audio-Visual aids, CD-Rom's and Students Project reports. The Library caters to the needs of the Students of the institute, providing a collection of titles related to management and allied disciplines. It is working towards meeting the present and future needs of the faculty and students.

The Library, built on most modern lines equipped with ergonomically designed furniture and fittings and managed by a highly dedicated team of professionals. BAPUJI EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION (Regd.)

Once known as "Manchester of Karnataka" with many spinning mills and weaving mills, Davangere was destined to lose its glory and after the collapse of the Textile industry. The leadership of Sri Shamanur Shivashankarappa MLA, Honorary Secretary of Bapuji Educational Association (BEA) and his dedicated team of elite and professional personalities made to sustain the growth of Davangere and the status as a place to reckon with in the state of Karnataka on account of the exponential growth of BEA. Thus Davangere is now becoming popular as "Oxford of Karnataka" with BEA's network of 40 Institutions.

BEA established in 1958 by a group of dedicated philanthropists has developed over the years to be a propulsive educational centre. It has been in the forefront in establishing educational institutions by foreseeing the needs of the people, rural and semi-urban with the continuous quest for excellence. Thus to-day BEA has under its net-work 40 institutions from primary level to post-graduate level in diversified discipline like, Medicine, Dental Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering & Technology, Law, Education, Management and Information Technology.

BIET

The Institute was established in the year 1979 with the intention of providing education, for the rural students who were deprived of merit seats in Government and grant- in-aid Institutions. The Institute offers 12 UG and 5 PG courses along with 8 research centres.

MBA PROGRAMME

The Institute offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) a two year full time Programme affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Within a short span of 10 years, BIET-MBA Programme has made a mark in the region for the quality education and for its own unique features under the dynamic visionary Sri A. S. Veeranna, FCA, Chairman of the Institute.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

1. Graduate from any university recognized by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, with not less than 50% (45% for SC/ST) of marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations.
2. Final year students, awaiting results can also apply.
3. Final admission to the course is subject to the candidate obtaining Eligibility Certificate from VTU, Belgaum.
4. Admissions through K-MAT test conducted by KPPGCA, Bangalore and PGCET conducted by VTU, Belgaum.
5. K-MAT is compulsory for non-Karnataka students
