Objectives
To enable the students to

* Understand business concepts leading to overall Enterprise Management. The endeavor is not only to impart skills, techniques and knowledge on key business areas such as Marketing, Finance, HR, IT - but also to integrate and inter-link these concepts into an enterprise level insight.
* Learn and apply the essentials of critical business processes like Strategic Management, Finance, Marketing, IT, Supply Chain Management, Product Design, Business Ethics, HR in this context.
* Imbibe an 'Entrepreneurial' spirit. Build Team Spirit and co- partner the students in their pursuit of their individual potential, personal, social and professional values, creativity and positive attitudes.

Structure of PGDBM at PICT-SITM

Our endeavor is to understand Enterprise Management and its critical components as processes and sub-processes, rather than as functions, and analyze their inter-relationships. Each academic year is of 3 trimesters, with 2 months of summer training in an Organization between the years. The 1st year focuses on Essential Management Concepts with equal emphasis on Strategic Management, Marketing, Finance, HR and IT. In the 2nd year, students have a dual specialization choice amongst.

Structure of Dual PGDBM at PICT-SITM and Coventry University

The first year of the dual PGDBM Program will be conducted at PICT-SITM, Pune. This year consists of three trimesters and the course details are same as mentioned below up to the third Trimester. In the second year students will go to Coventry University, UK to join the second Semester of Coventry Business School. After completion of Second Semester in UK students will come back for the balance second year at PICT-SITM, Pune to complete the PGDBM Program.

Evaluation System

We have a system of continuous evaluation for students. It ensures that students are evaluated on all aspects of knowledge through the CGPA system. The percentage weight-age is as follows:

* 25% for continuous evaluation wherein the following areas are covered,
* Assignments Field projects Class participation Attendance
* 50% for formal exam at the end of the trimester.
* 25% for external viva. (Experts from industry conduct external viva in order to ensure that learning is in line with industry expectations.)

The Admission Process and Entry Requirements

Eligibility:
(1) Graduates or postgraduates of a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of all years. (2) Proficiency in English Language

Important Notes: Students will be eligible for Semester 2 of Coventry University, UK after successful completion of Year 1 at PICT-SITM, Pune

Getting Admission

Step 1: You need to buy the Prospectus-cum-Application Form by sending DD for Rs. 700/- in favour of PICT-SITM payable at Pune.

Step 2: Complete the application form and send it to us, for further processing.

Step 3: Written test: You can appear for a paper/pencil test on a fixed date & time at any of our specified test centers.

Step 4: Group Discussion/Personal Interview.
The GD & PI for short listed students will be conducted at the institute campus in Pune only.

Step 5: Selection/Final Admission.
Admission to all programs is strictly on the basis of merit/performance in written test, GD/PI. Students will informed about their final selection by registered post. Those appearing for the final examination in April-May 2007 can also apply.
