ABOUT THE INSTITUTE:
If one
looks around at the major business houses, industrialists, entrepreneurs and institution-builders in India, it would be observed that the roots of many of them could be traced to Rajasthan. In fact Rajasthan can claim to have the origins and
development of true
spirit of enterprise, which is in essence the manifestation of entrepreneurial management aptitude, attitude, knowledge and skills. The setting up of Aravali Institute of Management (AIM) at Jodhpur in the year
2000 was a sincere and committed endeavour to provide to the State of Rajasthan a truly world-class management institute.

hostel for the girls. The hostel premises are adequately equipped with the various facilities and infrastructure. Each student in the hostel is provided with cot, mattress, pillow, cupboard, study table and study chair.
The hostel also
has kitchen and dining hall to prepare and serve nutritious vegetarian breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner to the hostelites, as per the menu decided by the students' Mess Committee. Hostels also have Common Room with television,
computers in Local Area Network (LAN) for homework, playground with sports facilities, etc. In addition, these premises have guest rooms for the use of our visiting faculty, which also facilitates the hostelites to meet and interact informally
with the experts and professionals visiting us.
The hostel charges are as under:
All three meals every day: Rs. 2,000 per calendar month (vegetarian meals only)
Accommodation: Rs. 2,000 per calendar month (payable for all 12 months)
Stay in the hostel is mandatory for all the outstation students. Moreover, meals are compulsory for all the students staying in the hostels. Local students not
staying in the hostels can also avail the lunch facility (at the Institute) by paying Rs. 800 per calendar month.
The above stated hostel and the lunch charges for every month are payable latest by the last day of the preceding month.
All the fees and charges are payable only by demand draft/cheque in favour of "Aravali Institute of Management" payable at Jodhpur. If the fees are not paid latest by the stipulated last date then the prescribed late fee will be
charged for a month, after which the concerned student will be asked to withdraw from the hostel.
The fees and charges, once paid, are non-refundable.
The Institute Management reserves the right to charge any other fees from the
students or to change the rate of any fee components, as may be necessary.
Academic Complex:
Institute is well equipped with various infrastructure and facilities like the classrooms, conference room, faculty rooms, documentation room, library, computer centres, reception, cafeteria, canteen, etc.
Library & Teaching Material:
The library plays a pivotal role in an
educational institution. With a view to build a top quality library and not to fill up the library with junk books, we had got a unique exercise carried out. On our request, the head of IIM Ahmedabad library analysed their books issuance
records of five years and provided us a list of the most frequently issued books. Accordingly the first set of books was procured for AIM library.
While each student is provided all the textbooks and teaching material by AIM, the
library provides a place for extension reading. Presently the AIM library has around 7000 books and 1000 CDs & video cassettes on management and allied topics. We add around 1000 more titles every year to the library.
The Institute
also subscribes to or receives over 400 periodicals and publications including journals and magazines in Management and allied areas from all over India and abroad.
Computer Centre:
With a view to ensure that all AIM students are able to use effectively the latest available
information technology tools, we presently have over 150 computer systems from IBM/Compaq and 13 HP laser printers, connected in Local Area Network (LAN) with broadband facility for 24 hours internet connectivity.
Educational Aids:
In all our classrooms, conference room, computer centres and library we have the latest
educational aids and equipments like computers with internet connection, LCD projectors, overhead projectors, slide projector, white screens and magnetic whiteboards. The Institute also has a fully equipped Documentation Centre with
photocopier, scanner, laser printer, etc.
Cafeteria:
Institute has a
large rooftop cafeteria with capacity to seat over 150 people. During the Lunch Break, we have a unique system where all the students, faculty, staff and visiting guests eat together while using this time meaningfully for informal discussion
on various aspects. AIM provides home like vegetarian nutritious meals at a nominal charge to the students.

Based on the inputs from various experts in the industry, IIMs, IITs and other organisations from India and abroad, the following curricula is followed at AIM :
STUDENTS ACTIVITIES
With a view to enable students to develop the leadership skills, team spirit and learn to manage the various activities, each student
becomes part of a committee and works under the supervision of the Committee Head, who is a student and under the guidance of the Committee Advisor, who is a faculty member. It is compulsory for each student to participate in one committee.
Following committees of the students carry out the various activities at the Institute:
* Academics Committee
* Alumni Committee
* Cultural Committee
* Discipline Committee
* Events Committee
* Examinations Committee
* Housekeeping & Maintenance Committee
(Hostels & Institute)
* In-House Publications Committee

* Final Placements Committee
* Summer Placements Committee
* Press Committee (Hindi & English)
* Safety, Health & Environment Committee
* Sports Committee
The Institute
also has eight students' clubs based on the various areas of importance for the budding managers. These clubs organise
quizzes, paper presentations, expert lectures and other activities of that particular stream. It is compulsory for a
student to be a
member of one club.
1. Communication & GK Club 2. Entrepreneurship Club
3. Finance Club 4. Marketing Club
5. Hindi Club 6. Human Resource Club
7. Information Technology Club 8. Law Club
It was with the above dream, mission, passion and vision that AIM was conceptualized and established under the aegis of Marwar Education Foundation, a registered non-profit charitable educational Society.
AIM is a unique endeavour since it has been founded entirely by the academicians and management professionals (primarily the alumni and faculty of IIMs & IITs).
AIM is presently in the tenth year of successful existence of sustained
growth and progress. Looking at AIM's affiliation with CAT conducted by IIMs within its first year itself, it being accorded "A++" Rating (Financial Express survey 2009) & "A" Rating (Business India survey 2003) and Ranked 1st in Rajasthan
(Business Today survey 2002) & 50th in India (Outlook survey 2005) amongst the Best B-Schools, we are convinced that AIM is on the right path to shape up to be truly a top-ranking management institute for meeting the local and national
needs. It has all been possible courtesy the association, guidance and support of a large number of individuals
and organisations from all over India and abroad.
To begin with, AIM has been functioning from the spacious leased
premises at Jodhpur since August 2000. Four years back we had purchased around 100 acres of private land in Jodhpur district where a large fully-residential campus is planned which would be a unique blend of modernity with heritage and
tradition. The campus would have the most modern communication facilities and educational aids, while simultaneously providing a natural habitat with a lot of greenery suitable for classes in the open, water harvesting and use of
non-conventional renewable energy sources.
At least three years bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks in any discipline from a university recognized by UGC or the state/central government. Final year students may also apply but the admission is subject to completing graduation by 30 June 2010. |
Selection of the students for admission to our Two Years Full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management is done
strictly based on the performance in Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs, academic track record, group discussion and personal interview. |
PROGRAMME FORM
AIM's Programme Forms (alongwith the Information Brochure) can be obtained by sending demand draft for |
IMPORTANT DATES
Issuance of AIM Programme Forms (without any late fee): 16 March to 15 May 2010 |
Our Two Years Full-time Post
Graduate Programme in Management is on the pattern of IIMs, supplemented with the inputs from the leading organisations in India and abroad.
The admissions to our Two Years Full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management are strictly
through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Based on AIM's merit, we are the first management institute in Rajasthan to have
the affiliation to CAT. While conveying us CAT affiliation approval, Prof. Sudas Roy of IIM Calcutta and Chairman - CAT had written on 24th July 2001 :
"IIM Ahmedabad faculty already has a long-term interaction and familiarity with
your Institute including your resources and facilities. Given the fact that your Institute is already doing well and is well established, use of CAT facility has been recommended. I welcome you as a new member and hope to have a fruitful
association with your Institute".
In view of the admissions being through CAT, for the above programme we have students from all over India.
For the non-resident Indians and foreign students, in addition to CAT, we can also
consider their candidature based on scores in the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT), taken any time during the year.
The admissions to our Two Years Full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (Specialization) are through the
various state/ national level tests or Institute's own Aravali Search & Selection Entrance Test (ASSET), followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
