ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
ACCMAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, founded by Balibhadra Foundation and promoted by a group of visionary leading practicing professionals with a mission of providing high quality, relevant, career-oriented, tailor-made business programs at an affordable cost. The industry focused management education would create business leaders who will have blended knowledge of Management, Finance and other related areas. The Institute hence draws together practitioners and academicians, who through interaction, work towards the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of practice in assisting students to become global business leaders.

COURSE STRUCTURE

CAMPUS & ACADEMIC FACILITIES

HOSTELS: The Institute offers excellent hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The rooms are apartment type, set in an unique vibrating environment whereby constant interaction of students among themselves occurs leading to community learning. The students staying per room is restricted to two. The hostel has facilities of common room, indoor games, and gymnasium. The hostel mess and eateries are managed by a mess committee comprising of students and the overall supervision by a committee nominated by the management of the Institution.

CAFETERIA: The School has a cafeteria which serves meals and snacks to students, staff and faculty at a very affordable rate.

COMPUTER CENTER: ACCMAN believes in the use of information technology in all spheres of its activities in line with current trends. IT thus forms a vital part of management education. The air-conditioned Computer Center having Pentium-IV Server with 40 terminals are connected through high speed broad band internet access and Wi-Fi connectivity enabling the faculty and students to link up with the outside world uninterruptedly. Students are encouraged to possess lab-tops and complete assistance is provided by AIM in this procurement.

LIBRARY: The fundamental pedagogical tool even today remains books. The epicenter of in-depth research and reference, the ACCMAN library (fully air-conditioned) serves as a primary resource center. The library is well equipped with a wide range of latest books in different related fields of management. Besides, the institute subscribes to an excellent selection of Indian and foreign journals and periodicals, covering functional and general topics.

ACADEMIC STAFF

Candidates seeking admission to the two-year PGDBM (Session 2007 - 2009), autonomous programme recognised by AICTE & Ministry of HRD at Accman Institute of Management (A.I.M.) are required to go through a rigorous admission procedure which ensures selection of the right types of candidates. The following procedure is adopted

ELIGIBILITY

An applicant should have a minimum of three-year Bachelor's Degree with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline recognized by the AIU/UGC. Candidates appearing for the final examination within June 2007 for the Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent examination) can also apply subject to furnishing evidence to that effect latest by 30th Sept. 2007.

SELECTION

All applicants have to pass through a three tier system of screening comprising of
* Written test - For admission to Accman Institute of Management one has to appear in MAT or in any other All India Management test such as CAT/XAT/AIMS or any other State level conducted Management entrance examination. Each prospect has also to apply separately to the Institute for which Prospectus and Application Form are to be obtained from the AIM campus.
Candidates who have applied for admission to AIM will be shortlisted on the basis of certain cut off of their MAT or any other Management test score . The shortlisted candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews for final selection in February/March 2007.
* Group Discussion and Personal Interview: The Second phase of selection procedure involves participation in Group Discussion. The final phase is the Personal Interview before a Selection Committee

The final selection will be made on the basis of -
* MAT or any other Management test score
* Past academic performance
* Performance in G.D. and personal interview and
* Work experience, if any.

Prospectus & Application Form can be obtained from the Campus by sending Demand Draft for Rs.600/- drown in favour of "Balibhadra Foundation" payable at New Delhi. The Application Form can also be downloaded.

FEES STRUCTURE OF ACCMAN INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT For PGDBM 2007-09 BATCH

Interaction with the Industry and Corporates is considered extremely important. The Corporate Resource Interface Centre (C.R.I.C.) has hence been set up which is proactively involved in creating an interface with the industry and responsible for providing a platform for interaction between the Students and Managers
in the industry. The prime objective being to:
* Maintaining regular interaction with the industry and organize industrial training, visits, guest lectures, workshops and  seminars to broaden the exposure of students.
* Providing requisite knowledge in areas of personality mapping & communication skills.
* Revising curriculum as per changing business requirements.
* Organizing inter-cultural exchange with other institutions.
* Identifying organizations where consultancy assignments can be taken up.
C.R.I.C. further assists the students find summer placement opportunities and final placement by exploring all opportunities. The Centre trains the students in soft skills viz. facing Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Role Plays etc. The process will be running through out the semester on regular basis. C.R.I.C. is managed by the student Placement Committee under the  guidance of Centre Head, C.R.I.C.. This Centre is coordinated directly under the supervising of the Director (an Alumnus of  IITK & IIMA).
